📅 Week 1 Theme: "The Need for Salvation"
📅 February 16 – "God’s Desire for All to Be Saved"
📖 Bible Text:
"The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance." – 2 Peter 3:9 (NKJV)
📝 Exposition:
God does not take pleasure in the destruction of sinners. Instead, His desire is for all to repent and be saved. Many mistake His patience for weakness or delay, but the truth is that God is giving mankind more time to turn to Him.
This verse highlights three important truths:
- God’s Promise is Certain – Christ will return to judge the world.
- God’s Patience is Evident – He delays judgment to give people a chance to repent.
- God’s Will is for All to Be Saved – But He will not force anyone; the choice is ours.
Although God wants all people to be saved (1 Timothy 2:4), not all will accept His offer. Many reject the gospel, choosing sin over salvation (John 3:19-20). However, His love remains, calling every soul to repentance before the final day comes (Acts 17:30-31).
📖 Supporting Scriptures:
- 1 Timothy 2:4 – God desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
- Ezekiel 33:11 – God has no pleasure in the death of the wicked but desires them to turn from their ways and live.
✅ Practical Application:
- Do not take God’s patience for granted – His delay is not eternal.
- Repent while there is time – Tomorrow is not promised.
- Help others understand God's love – Many think God is unfair, but He is merciful.
- Live in gratitude – Appreciate the second chances God gives through His patience.
🤔 Reflection Questions:
- Am I using the time God has given me to draw closer to Him?
- Have I responded to God's call for repentance, or am I delaying?
💡 Closing Thought (Motivational Statement):
"God’s patience is not permission to sin—it’s an opportunity to be saved!"
🙏 Prayer:
"Heavenly Father, thank You for Your patience and desire for all to be saved. Help me to repent sincerely and guide others to Your truth. In Jesus' name, Amen."
