📖 Bible Text:

"But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves." – James 1:22 (NKJV)

📝 Exposition:
Hearing God's Word is essential, but it is not enough. True faith is demonstrated in action. Many people listen to sermons, read the Bible, and even memorise Scripture, yet fail to apply it in their lives. James warns that those who only hear but do not act are deceiving themselves—thinking they are godly while their lives remain unchanged.

Jesus illustrated this principle in Matthew 7:24-27 with the parable of the wise and foolish builders. The wise man built his house on the rock by hearing and obeying God’s Word, while the foolish man built on sand, merely hearing but not obeying. When trials came, only the obedient believer stood firm.

Being a doer of the Word means allowing it to shape our decisions, relationships, and daily conduct. It means forgiving as Christ forgave, loving as He loved, and living by His commandments. Faith without works is dead (James 2:26). If we truly trust God’s Word, we will live it out in every aspect of our lives.

🔹 Let Scripture shape your character—Live by biblical principles, not worldly standards.
🔹 Serve and love others—Faith in action is seen in how we treat people.
