The Consequences of Rejecting Salvation

📅 Week 1 Theme: "The Need for Salvation"

📅 February 15 – "The Consequences of Rejecting Salvation"

📖 Bible Text:

"He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him." – John 3:36 (NKJV)

📝 Exposition:

Rejecting the salvation offered in Christ is not just a missed opportunity; it has eternal consequences. Many assume that rejecting the gospel is a neutral decision, but Jesus teaches otherwise—it results in condemnation.

There are two eternal realities:

  1. For those who believe and obeyEternal life awaits (John 5:24).
  2. For those who reject Christ – The wrath of God remains on them (2 Thessalonians 1:8-9).

God is loving, but He is also just. He has provided salvation through Christ, but He will punish those who reject it. The wrath of God is not a momentary punishment—it is eternal separation from His presence in hell (Matthew 25:46).

This truth should stir two responses:

  • A deep sense of urgency to accept salvation.
  • A commitment to warn others before it is too late.

📖 Supporting Scriptures:

  • 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9 – Those who do not obey the gospel will face everlasting destruction.
  • Mark 16:16 – He who believes and is baptized will be saved, but he who does not believe will be condemned.

✅ Practical Application:

  • Take salvation seriously – It is not an option but a necessity.
  • Examine yourself – Have you obeyed the gospel completely?
  • Warn others – Many are unaware of the eternal danger they face.
  • Do not delay – Every day without Christ is a day closer to eternal separation.

🤔 Reflection Questions:

  • Have I truly obeyed the gospel, or am I delaying my salvation?
  • Am I warning others about the dangers of rejecting Christ?

💡 Closing Thought (Motivational Statement):

"Eternal life or eternal condemnation—your choice today determines your destiny!"

🙏 Prayer:

"Father, help me to take Your salvation seriously and to share it with others before it is too late. Keep me faithful to Your will. In Jesus' name, Amen."
